Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic has etched his name into NHL history by becoming the first netminder to score a goal and assist in a single game. This remarkable feat occurred during the Penguins' 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Nedeljkovic, who also made 40 saves, had a significant contribution to the game, assisting on a goal by Cody Glass that put the Penguins ahead.
With just under three minutes left in the game, Nedeljkovic made a remarkable long-range shot into an empty net after the Sabres had pulled their goalie. The goalie revealed that he had been inspired by legendary puck handlers Marty Turco and Martin Brodeur, which helped develop his puck-handling skills over the years.
