The New York Rangers have acquired winger Arthur Kaliyev from the Los Angeles Kings, seeking to bolster their struggling roster after trading Kaapo Kakko to Seattle. Kaliyev, a young player at 23, has been sidelined this season due to a clavicle injury but recently completed a conditioning stint with the AHL's Ontario Reign.
The Kings waived Kaliyev as they activated players Trevor Lewis and Trevor Moore from injured reserve. The Rangers, ranked seventh in the waiver priority list, hope Kaliyev can help reverse their disappointing season, where they've lost 16 out of 22 games, landing them in a tie for last place in the Metropolitan Division.
