The Boston Red Sox have made a significant move by signing free agent pitcher Walker Buehler to a one-year contract worth $21 million. This deal mirrors the qualifying offer he missed from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Buehler, a key player in the Dodgers' World Series victory, faced challenges in the previous season post Tommy John surgery, finishing with a disappointing 1-6 record and a 5.38 ERA. Despite this, his past performance showcases his potential, as he was a standout pitcher from 2017 to 2022.
Alongside Buehler, the Red Sox have also acquired Garrett Crochet, enhancing their starting rotation for the upcoming season.
