The Chicago Bears are continuing their extensive search for a new head coach following the firing of Matt Eberflus. The team interviewed Eddie George, the head coach of Tennessee State and former NFL running back, for the position. In his four seasons at Tennessee State, George has led the Tigers to a 24-22 record, recently tying for first place in the OVC-Big South Football Association and earning a postseason berth. He was recognized as the Big South-OVC Coach of the Year.
George's interview with the Bears marks the 17th confirmed meeting the franchise has held in its quest for a coach. The team is exploring various candidates, including interim head coach Thomas Brown, Joe Brady, Pete Carroll, and several others. George, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1995 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011, had a noteworthy NFL career, primarily with the Tennessee Titans, where he set multiple franchise records before retiring after a stint with the Dallas Cowboys.
